| the business man was never really phased by the amounts of his workers and what the dollar signed that they preferred to received for putting their life on the line. everyone was paid well for most of them hadn't realized that they met the man behind the operation, but he preferred it that way. he rubbed the back of his neck while going over the accounting books that his lovely accountant was purposely cooking them to be able to explain the extra funds from the side business, considering money loitering was a risky business. he picked up the glass of whiskey sour that was in a glass ontop of his desk to his lips and took a swig, he felt the burning sensation flow down his throat and could feel it throughout his chest for a moment or two. he rolled his head allowing his neck to stretch out a 'bit as he tried to think about a way to appear normal to the folks around miami tonight. it had actually been awhile since he been out on the town claiming that being a business man tended to suck the free time he had for the viewing public. he was nominated in the top ten of handsome bacholars and he had yet to allow it to go to his head.
he pushed himself out of his chair and straightened his suit while re-buttoning the black jacket. it wouldn't be surprising to anyone to see him in a suit to any location that he was going, considering the fact that he wasn't the type to dress down from fancy. it was certainly a site for sore eyes when he would be spotted in a white shirt with a pair of blue jeans. now he did own several pair, but it would appear that they still had the tags attached to them. he never felt like he had an occasion to wear them too because everything felt like a suit affair, and he enjoy appearing like he thought he was better than everyone to see the reaction of the population. he put one foot infront of the other and soon he was heading out the building towards his car. he glanced towards the one guard that knew him by face because remi had lost his temper around him slitting a guys throat infront of him. a nod of acknowledgement was the only thing given towards the yount man.
all too soon he was parked in the club's parking lot, but every club parking lot seemed rather shady to him. being wealthy came with the perks considering the fact that he was able to walk in without flashing his id at the bouncer, it also been known that he was successful and a few or some odd years passed the legal age requirement. he was ushered towards the vip portion of the club and served with his favorite drink as it wasn't messing with the previous whiskey that was already settling in the pit of his stomach. now the only thing that he was in need of was someone to accompany him, but it didn't bother him to be alone. that news is too be expected considering that he was an unmarried business man, whom seemed to lack the interest in changing his status at any point in the near future. |

the rays of the setting sun went unnoticed in the strip club, the windows tinted too dark to know the difference between day and night without looking at a clock. however, rian knew it was getting to be the night. more customers were coming in to take away the boredom of an early shift. during the earlier shifts, the woman usually found herself lounging in the backstage area or one of the vip rooms, texting people or working with other girls on new moves. she loved learning new moves, especially on the pole, but she was often too eager to nail it and put it to use, which was why she currently found herself with a sharp pain in her shoulder when she lifted her arm too high. and with the new customers in with the hour getting later, she knew she was going to be able to leave soon. sure enough, the owner approached her and gave her a gentle rub on the back and told her she could go. as big of a pervert as he could be, he did care about his employees... sometimes more than others.
after changing in the back room and deciding it was too early to call it a night or go home, she decided to see what excitement could be found in the nightlife. the more "party-hardy" people were starting to wonder the streets; men in their muscle shirts and women in their shortest skirts. it made her roll her eyes. those were people she was often surrounded by, enjoying that lifestyle herself, but they were normally the people she avoided actual contact with unless they could perk her interest or she was drunk enough to tolerate them. finally ignoring the people around, she walked into a club she had danced at before for a burlesque night, where the employees seemed fairly decent and the drinks not overly expensive. the people standing in line were irritate with her easy entrance, judging by the groans and shouts coming from outside the door, and it made a smug smirk touch her face.
while she waiting for the bartender to fix her drink, a familiar figure caught her attention as he was being ushered off somewhere. her head tilted and she absent-mindedly gave the bartender his money while she took her drink and curiously headed off in the direction he had gone. having asked one of the employees, she was pointed into the right room and she walked in. "aah, i thought i had spotted the great remi walking among the commoners." she smirked his way as she walked toward him.

| the sun could no longer cast it's harmful, yet helpful rays down on miami no longer on this particular night. people had already shifted from their beds to begin making their way to clubs, long before remi had time to shift all of his workers away from the dry cleaners. he trusted most of them with enough evidence that could easily be over looked with the proper amount on a piece of paper, it didn't amaze him how humans tended to be easily bribed. it was a rare treat, indeed, for him to be found in a local bar, when he could easily throw his own engagement, in the first place. he felt ill around normal people, because their ignorance was far too much for him to deal with on a daily basis. he was a routine man that didn't stray far from what he found himself accustomed too, because once people knew the business it was time to make them disappear. it was for the people of miami's own protection for him to be as reclusive as he was, because unsolved missing persons report that would normally present themselves to be dead.
he was at the v.i.p. section on this greatful club, it would seem that his reputation perceived him that the people lead him there without him having to utter a single world. he gave the hostess a small nod, while he walked further into the area with his drink in hand. it was a pleasant, but odd surprise that a particular wildcat blonde force herself into the same area as him. he soon after waved off the people that were looking at her funny, he slipped an arm around her shoulders to get the workers to back off of her, before they had time to attempt to pull her away from the vip section. "i figured it was time to allow you people the pleasure of viewing me on your own territory." he responded to her with ease. he never had any issues with speaking to anyone, and much less with this little lady.
"and what were you planning to do tonight?" he asked, and then took a small sip of his drink. she always seemed to interest him with the way that she spoke of things in an nonchalant type of way with zero fucks given on how he spoke to others. he shifted his drink to his other hand that was over her shoulders, to run his hand through his hair, while leading to a table that was clear from liquid stains and shirtless woman attached to it. he rolled his eyes at the sheer lack of respect that some woman have when this was clearly not a strip bar. he slipped his arm out from on top of his shoulders and slide into the table. "how was work?" he asked, though more times than none he didn't care about others and such. |

daylight vanishing typically meant the decent people were going home and the roaches of the world were coming out. dirty money was set on counters for dirty martinis and the clubs were filled with people you didn't want to dicuss business and money with for the sake of your own safety. knowing too much in this world was the thin line that meant life or death. sometimes you just had to know the right people, sometimes you could get paid off or pay someone off yourself if your will to live was worth enough. rian knew the dirty corners of miami well. she had grown up in the them. what had been swept under the rug and hidden in the dark was knowledge she knew about or could easily find out, if she really wanted to. but she tended to keep her nose out of the grim, mostly since she had to think about more than herself after ellie had come to live with her. risking her loved ones wasn't worth knowledge and an adrenaline rush.
the young woman was very much aware of the looks she was given and how the guards were wary, but it wasn't something she paid much mind to. for one, she knew mister cupid culprice on a level that not a great amount of people had the privilege. stepping beside him and receiving his arm over her shoulders, she smirked at his comment. they were a fiendish pair, remi and rian. between their bitter humor and thick sarcasm, as well as their quick tempers and no-shit-taken personalities, they were forces to be reckoned with alone. "well, how cavalier of you, sir. these people truly don't recognize the honor they've been graced with."
she sipped from her own drink as they strode toward a table. sliding in across from him, she leaned back and crossed her legs, shrugging casually. "no real plans, just hoping to find something interesting or exciting." he waved her hand out at him with a small smirk, "and look who fate had me stumble upon." the half naked girls in the room were normal for her; so normal that she had hardly noticed other than the fact that this was a night club and not a strip club. with a gentle shake of her head, she turned her attention back to her companion. "dull as a wooden spoon. the only good thing about a day shift is i get to spend the evening hours doing whatever i want. i would've liked to have made more money but i guess you can't have everything." she shrugged. "what about you? anything exciting in the laundry business?"
