 | a beautiful day was hard to resist for the young girl. even in the more sheltered days of her youth, she liked to at least sit out on the back porch with her laptop and do her normal activities. today it was perfect.it was warm outside without being too hot, a cool sea breeze being a perfect way to tolerate the moments it felt almost too warm. tourists hustled and bustled down to the beach and shops, locals went on their daily errands with a slowly step just to enjoy the day out. it was like something you saw in a movie and rarely got to experience for yourself in the real world. and it was what coaxed alexys out of her dorm room to do some studying and homework at the park. in the distance she could hear children playing on the playground, yelling and laughing. any other day and lex would've left to find a quieter spot, but today it just seemed to fit so well that it didn't bother her. she sat on a plain blanket, one leg stretched out with the other bent in to serve as a way to keep her textbook prompted up for her to see. every now and again, she would jot down notes to remember later or stick a colored paper clip on the page for her to come back to another time. she ruffled her fingers through her hair and rested her hand on her shoulder for a bit before sighing, her eyes never leaving the book as she read on. alexys's mind was starting to drift away from the task at hand and she was finding it harder and harder to concentrate on her book. finally, she gave up and closed it, laying back and looked up at the scattered clouds as they passed overhead, occasionally bathing her in shade. maybe going out to study for a while hadn't be the best idea but, then again, it wasn't like she this was a last minute cram session. she softly sang along to the music coming from her ipod and she closed her eyes, just soaking up the warm rays of sun and taking in content and relaxed feeling she was currently enjoying. |
