The buzzing of the tattoo needle always put Phoenix in a sort of trance. He followed the lines of the stencil perfectly, even through the thick ink that tried to hide them. Since he and Rian had moved into the nicer apartment, he had more room to work and that was something that made both him and customers a lot happier than when he used to tattoo in the small, dirty kitchen. Remembering those condition made him cringe as he thought about how many people had been in risk of getting infections. He had been stupid in the past. But now a room in the apartment was dedicated strictly to tattooing. Pictures hung on the walls, a desk with his drawing untincels and computer the only thing he allowed on it. It was better for everyone involved.
The buzzing stopped and he wiped away the ink to check his work. All the lines were filled and the tattoo looked pretty awesome. Phoenix loved when people drew up their own tattoo designs for him to do. With a proud nod to himself, he cleaned the freshly inked flesh that had been a virgin canvas before and he wrapped it. "Alright, you're good to go, man." A couple question about how to take care of it and the cash handed off meant the end of the job and he was free for the day, unless he got a call on his seperate cell phone inteded for his other job. After cleaning and sanitizing his tattoo room, he walked out into the main part of the apartment in search of his best friend and roommate.
Living with Rian was something Phoenix was glad he got to do. After his drug dealing had picked up and he was busier, he didn't get to see her as much. But living with her meant he was almost guarateed a few minutes every day. He was especially glad to live with her after Ellie had moved out. It meant Rian had someone there and Phoenix felt like he was protecting her, even if she didn't need it. "Rian, I'm starved, let's get some food," he complained.
