| violet wasn't the best when it came to ditching class, even when others were doing it. she could remember still going to school when it was senior ditch day, which didn't phase her much when she realized that most of her class was out doing whatever they could to get shitfaced. but that was about two years ago, and she was going to be able to get off her shift from gamestop in just a few mere hours. she talked about games with ease to the customers and was able to get a couple of people sign up for a power up rewards card. she almost squealed when she was able to clock out, she turned around and purchased another controller for her new system. she slipped the bag into her purse and rushed out the door, while politely waving goodbye at the manager since he was there. she glanced around the mall, before walking across the tilted floors and making her way out the front doors. she started nibbling her bottom lip, while wondering what she was going to do now that she was free from her daunting tasks of work and no classes on the weekend. she pulled out her phone to see if her brother would pick up, howl seemed to be rather busy with his girlfriend or his best friend. she sometimes resented them with the fact that he was more accepting to their closeness verses his actual relationship with her.
she had take a taxi ride to be able to get to work on time, normally she enjoyed the pleasant stroll to the mall between the apartment complex she was a resident in to the mall stretch. she ran a hand through her hair, while deciding that she would like a cup of joe or an espresso to give her a boost of energy. surprisingly to most people that knew that she was howl's little sister, couldn't believe the fact that she never shared her first kiss with someone, yet some soon realized that she was the only one that was truly sheltered as a child. once she arrived at the dogtooth cafe, she glanced around for a moment, before finding herself sliding into the booth next to the window. sure enough, a petite waitress wondered over there so she could take her order, which violet apologized when she jumped from the sudden appearance of the one; she had been too absorbed into the small menu that the cafe had been able to put together. she ordered her drink and a blueberry muffin. this is her favorite flavor, so she was quite in the mood to please herself. she pulled out her phone and set it on the table against the window. |

Working the night shift at the gas station was an easy solution to all the free time his insomnia gave him. He didn't have to do a lot and was free to walk the streets during the day. But not having a day job lead to boredom which could be . . . Dangerous. Everything that was fun was illegal or dangerous. Some days he couldn't be bothered to try and get into trouble. It took effort and planning and more time that it was worth. It was easier to just sit and watch. Learn. These people were like robots the way they stuck to their programming and daily rituals. Wake up, take a shower, get dressed, morning coffee, go to work, lunch, work, go home, eat dinner, go to bed. Rinse and repeat. He held the steaming cup of coffee as he watched and tried to hide his disgust. Like sheep headed to the slaughter. They were all so blissfully unaware and ignorant of their own unhappiness and content acceptance of how shitty their lives were. But not Jack.
A man sat in the corner. He looked distraught. Bags under his eyes and his clothes in a disarray. He was too aware of his unhappiness. What was his solution? Would he try to fix it, quit his job and do something better? No. The look on his face screamed his solution. It made Jack laugh to himself thought he couldn't figure out why. People walked past the man without giving him a second glance. Ignorance is bliss. Or were they just oblivious to the obvious pain he was suffering in his own mind? The end all the misery with a slash of a blade. Or maybe he was craving a bullet. Jack was tempted to ask what the plan was but was distracted as a familiar blonde walked into the quiet cafe.
He watched her quietly as she sat down in a booth by the window across the building. She seemed distracted. He smirked when she jumped at the waitress' arrival and she gave her order. Her phone was placed on the table. A sign she was expecting a call or text? Or a completely normal thing teenagers did? He pulled out his phone and scrolled through his contacts before stopping on hers. I see you. The text sent and he stood up, walking toward her table in way that wouldn't catch her attention.

| unsure why her brother kept blowing her off to either hang out with his girlfriend or his best friend, and all she wanted was to feel accepted by him. she was lost in her daily stress from the morning shift at gamestop, that she wouldn't mind finding herself curled up in the sofa while playing video games. often, she found herself confused with some of their conversations, but she normally dismissed them. she hadn't realized that a familiar blonde was in the same location as her, or she wouldn't have hesitated to go bother him. lifting her hand and rubbed the back of her neck, while thinking that she could use a massage. the likelihood of her actually getting a massage was slim to none, and she was going to have to deal with that.
the sound of buzzing an racket against the table felt like it echoed across the cafe, she moved her hand from her neck and too her phone to open the message. she nibbled her bottom lip, while typing 'you should come give me company, hon.' and pushed sen, before she looked up and scrolled her eyes across the room. it seemed like an instant when her eyes locke his, and she waved him over with a simple hand motion and a light pout. she knew that she was probably the most inexperienced that he held a conversation with. she made sure her phone is on silent, so it wouldn't bother them while they were talking.
she looked across from the table and grinned, "i'll have to hug you later, when a table isn't between us." she started to say, and softly giggled. "how are you, mista j?" she asked, giving him the nickname because his name started with a j and she picked up on his fascination on the joker. her accent was still proving to never allow her to forget where she originally came from, which she enjoyed being able to be different from time to time. she just didn't like to think about her past, considering the fact that she was bullied after her brother left, and still manage to keep from blaming him on it. "gamestop was pretty busy, so there was that. do you work today?" she said, with a soft pout. she kindof wanted to spend some more time with him, because he seemed like a pretty cool guy...and he was attractive.
